A Novel of Fascist Smasher and the International Brigades

Their grandfathers had been comrades in

the International Brigades.

Fascist Smasher, Black Belt, Labor Lass,

a Hegelian triad of superheroes in service of the

Spanish Republic and the International...

Then the Cold War happened.

And then their grandchildren, during a worldwide uprising unseen in history, had to confront what their grandparents had lived through.

A shameless pulp science fiction indebted to Nineties superhero cartoons and the writings of Alan Moore,

"Things Didn't Get Better After the Cold War"

is an introduction to a new and exciting universe that challenges notions of propriety,

political economy, racial capitalism,

and McCarthyite witch hunting.

Can superheroes be in the proletarian vanguard?

Can we surmount the central contradiction of

our settler-colonial society in the manner suggested by a

short story authored by WEB Du Bois?

Asata Robeson and Abe Finkelstein didn't expect to be confronted with those questions during a worldwide revolutionary uprising that

would have made CLR James weep with pride.

They just accidentally fell in love.
